First Responder Trainings for Suicide Prevention
Based on the foundation of QPR( Question, Persuade, and Refer), this training provides useful and supportive tools around suicide prevention with First Responders, Military and Veterans in mind.
This free one-hour training equips First Responders to prevent suicide by increasing awareness of suicide risk factors, learning conversation tools for suicide prevention, exploring available resources, and teaching appropriate response strategies. With an emphasis on self-care, role play and the importance of asking the question, this training empowers First Responders to know the best way to support someone who may be dealing with suicidal thoughts, whether it is a colleague, friend, or loved one. Partnering with Pathways and Fire Captain Ryan J Mitchell’s First responder Behavioral Health Support Program, this training has been thoroughly peer reviewed and showcases an effective way to support a loved one dealing with thoughts of suicide. This training is completed with providing information on First Responder specific resources and a certificate of completion.
This training will be held online via Zoom. Please RSVP below or contact Ti’fani Law at spcsandiego@sdchip.org for more information.
