FREE FLU SHOTS will be given by the
San Diego Black Nurses Association
*Free food will be provided by MedImmune, Inc.*
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending
that certain people be given priority for getting the flu shot.
Groups considered as priorities for flu vaccine in early October
include:
- Adults 65 years of age or older - even if healthy.
- Children 6 months - 23 months old - even if healthy.
- Household contacts and people who take care of infants under
6 months of age.
- Pregnant women.
- Adults and children with chronic diseases (heart disease,
lung disease, asthma, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS
or immune system disorders).
- Residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities.
- Health care personnel who provide direct patient care.
* If you are allergic to eggs or if you are ill,
you should not take the vaccine. If you have additional questions,
please contact your personal physician.
